2025 was truly DC’s year to sink or swim. After a string of flops like 2023’s The Flash and 2024’s Joker: Folie à Deux, they needed a bona fide hit to get their brand-new cinematic universe off on the right foot and prove to audiences that the DC brand is still worth following. It’s fortunate that they tapped noted superhero movie veteran and geek extraordinaire James Gunn for this nigh-impossible challenge.

Method acting gone too far?

That mix of naivety and composure has defined her rise to success. In just five years, Alcock has gone from inner-west Sydney to global recognition in House of The Dragon, and soon, a superhero suit. Her name now sits beside the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow logo, a $200 million DC feature directed by fellow Australian Craig Gillespie.

He followed up and said the title is fake, not the show itself.

The show would be led by Skyler Gisondo, reprising his role as Daily Planet photographer Jimmy Olsen, with season one focusing on Gorilla Grodd.

HBO’s Lanterns TV show has finished production, and when Gunn was asked by BobaTalks when the world may get a first look at the DCU drama. He confirmed that he has “seen the [sneak] peak,” for the series. However, the DC Studios co-CEO added, *"I think at least where it is now. But I have no clue…when that’s planned to be shown. With HBO, the marketing is so different than film."*
