It’s more so that “well, it’s tradition!” and the tradition is 50 or 70 years old is what keeps a lot of people and policies and things in place. Like “In God We Trust” on USD. It’s only been there since the 1950’s, but people act like it’s some immutable permanent fixture of the nation.
