Singapore introduces caning for boys who bully others at school

Ah yes, let’s teach the bullies that physical violence is an appropriate response to behavior you don’t like. Surely that’ll have no consequences.

I first read this as ‘caring’….Which I suspect is probably a better approach, given that these are children

But, I have met tons of people that probably could’ve benefited from a good ol’ caning, so there’s that too…

Considering how often bullies are enabled by school administrators, I can’t foresee any unforeseen consequences with this policy.

Singapore really still running that centuries-old, disproven by behavioral-science “the floggings will continue until morale improves” approach.

Thank God! I am sure this will be used fairly.

I remember when I was in school that the schools always punished the bully instead of the bullied person who reacted.

Every time I hear about Singapore it sounds awful.

Wake up babe, new bullying method just dropped. Let’s see if we can manipulate the school to cane my victims!

Beating down on kids is so human.

I got called “iron butt” by family members because I stopped being fazed from it as i got older. Especially when I thought punishment was bs. Grandma had to resorted to hitting me with a pan and by that point she knew it was pointless and gave up.

I’m not going to ask my brother from another mother who is from Singapore about this.

Man, I had some bullies I’d love to have seen caned.

I wish America would cane boys that vote republican! Maybe the ignorant sonsabitches would pay a little more attention to their vote.

Boys get caned, girls get detention? All that systemic male privilege condensed into a wonderfully explicit public beating.
