"If they do not have the will to implement a simple order to stop the attacks, it may take a great deal of effort to get Russia to implement something much more significant, namely peaceful coexistence with its neighbors for decades to come."

So… Ukraine has to leave itself utterly defenseless before Putin will even consider a ceasefire? Not just standing down, but dissolving the army? I assumed it would be bad, but this isn’t even worth Zelensky’s time. A demand this extreme can’t even be considered a negotiation tactic. It’s the diplomatic equivalent of the middle finger.
All this “peace talk” nonsense is just a distraction.
And this is after the violated multiple treaties with Ukraine when Russia did the same shit before. It's a fucking joke.
Zelensky is extremely patient with Trump, way more than Trump deserves. But he is doing it for his people.
Because he wants to keep the door open if USA should decide to help Ukraine with or without Trump.
And he has made a little bit of progress, at least NATO partners are now allowed to buy weapons for Ukraine. Which Trump initially blocked.
Imagine throating putin for nothing
