Demisexuality is a term used to describe individuals who rarely experience primary sexual attraction.
A demisexual person generally tends to develop sexual attraction after they experience secondary sexual attraction – a type of attraction that occurs after development of an emotional bond.

The last part doesn't sound forced at all, pattern really is a great word with many rhymes. You lantern.
But for real, this poem just irritates me. Yes, it is far more difficult to actually get a decent cross rhyme working. Still, it is so much more satisfying when it actually works. For example (if you want to keep the roses part):
Roses are complex
I'd love an embrace
Though rather not sex
Because I am ace
(Yes, this doesn't necessarily fit the pattern of discovering sexuality but so do the demi one and the poly one somewhat because liking multiple flowers feels more like a bi/pan analogy in my opinion. But that poem has nearly a good rhyming scheme: [red - golly - violetS - poly]).
